You are invited to participate in the one-day workshop:

Developing and Sustaining Free/Open Source Software (F/OSS) Applications
   For, By and With Communities

to be held June 13, in Milano, Italy
in conjunction with the 2nd International Conference on Communities and
Technologies,
http://www.cct2005.disco.unimib.it/

There are important affinities between a free/open source software
(F/OSS) approach to systems development and local community ICT
initiatives. But there are some significant tensions between them as
well. This workshop aims to bring together researchers and practitioners
sympathetic to these perspectives to share experiences, clarify
positions, identify key issues, and explore promising avenues for
improving the development and sustainability of community-oriented ICT
applications based on free/open source software.

Prospective attendees are invited to submit electronically a short
position statement (2-5 pages, 2500 words max) that addresses the broad
workshop aims. These are to be submitted via the F/OSS Workshop website
no later than April 29, 2005 to enjoy the early registration discount.

Workshop description and submission details can also be found at this
website.

The workshop organizers:

Andrew Clement, /CRACIN - Faculty of Information Studies, University of
Toronto, Canada/
Robert Luke, /Knowledge Media Design Institute, University of Toronto,
Canada/
Randall Terada, /St Christopher House, Toronto, Canada
