    Andrea> "Please don't use ``commercial'' as a synonym for
Andrea> ``non-free''. That confuses two entirely different issues.
Andrea> A program is commercial if it is developed as a business
Andrea> activity. A commercial program can be free or non-free,
Andrea> depending on its license. Likewise, a program developed
Andrea> by a school or an individual can be free or non-free,
Andrea> depending on its license. The two questions, what sort of
Andrea> entity developed the program and what freedom its users
Andrea> have, are independent. In the first decade of the Free
Andrea> Software Movement, free software packages were almost
Andrea> always noncommercial; the components of the GNU/Linux
Andrea> operating system were developed by individuals or by
Andrea> nonprofit organizations such as the FSF and
Andrea> universities. But in the 90s, free commercial software
Andrea> started to appear. Free commercial software is a
Andrea> contribution to our community, so we should encourage
Andrea> it. But people who think that ``commercial'' means
Andrea> ``non-free'' are likely to assume the idea is
Andrea> self-contradictory, and reject it based on a
Andrea> misunderstanding. Let's be careful not to use the word
    Andrea> ``commercial'' in that way."

Andrea> In pratica, come appunto si diceva, non si dovrebbe
Andrea> utilizzare il termine "commerciale" ma "proprietario".

Appunto. Commerciale == "creato per fare soldi". Molto software GPL e'
commerciale ( a parte chi usa ingiustamente commerciale come sinomino
