> Free and open source software demonstrate every day the strength and the efficiency of the model of cooperative development - notions of exchange, knowledge sharing, democracy, belong to the green fields where our representatives can make a difference - and numerous experiences such as the switch of Munich to Linux have proven so. This is also close to our work against genetic engineering and patents on life.
> At each power level the Greens favor the modernization of computer systems taking in account criteria such as interoperability, accessibility, democracy .... that Free Software is better able to guarantee than proprietary software. Green representatives are active in proposing draft laws to migrate public administrations to free software. The victory against software patents in European Parliament, will also be discussed in order to continue the work at the level of the European Council via the Member States. This discussion will take place in light of the proposal for resolution on the "Information ecology" that is tabled to the plenary meeting of the congress.
